NAVIGATORS (ELDERSHIP)  

The Navigators are the Elders of the Church together with the Pastors. They are responsible for the oversight of all ministries. Their major focus is teaching and prayer from the word and equipping and empowering the church body to grow in faith, discover their spiritual gifts and reach the Tamborine Community for Christ.

Julian Bahlmann

Julian is a Certified Practising Accountant and says he has always been a ‘bean counter’. He is self employed as a CPA with JAG Partners Accountants in Brisbane.

He and his family have been on the Mountain since 2002 and became part of the Liberty family in 2004.

Julian is a very humble man, gentle, friendly and always ready to help serve. He adds a wealth of wisdom to the leadership team in the areas of finance and fiscal planning. Julian always sees the positive way forward in difficult situations and has a sharp ability to discern the best option in any given situation.

Stephen Cox

Stephen is a teacher and holds the post of Head of Science at Tamborine Mtn State High School. Stephen has also worked in other places as a teacher and in ‘assorted odd jobs’.

Stephen and his family have lived on Tamborine Mountain since 2001 and they have been a part of Liberty Church since 2004.

Stephen also has a wicked sense of humour (is that allowed in an Elder?)

Andrew Fuller

Andrew is a fireman at Beenleigh.

Andrew is homegroup co-ordinator and an emerging teacher. He is "Jack of all Trades", always serving others and seeking to encourage and support people and is always doing something for someone. He is a great asset to our leadership team with his clear thinking and passion to grow a vibrant church. Someone you can always rely on.

Carol and Rod Lum

Carol is experienced in administration and secretarial work. She volunteers as our treasurer and secretary. Rod and Carol have a passion for mission and lots of areas local and overseas and they frequently volunteer in aboriginal settlements to help skill and train the indigenous communities. Carol is known for her mercy, compassion and servant heart. Carol has a wonderful gift of listening and sharing in people’s joys and grief. She has a very natural ability to encourage and affirm others no matter what situation they find themselves in.

Rod is a jack of all trades and extremely handy at any challenge he is given. He has owned numerous businesses, earth moving, and plantation management. Rod has a gift of faith and a driving passion for mission. He is very practical and gets involved in all sorts of ministries caring for the needy and disadvantaged. He has worked to assist the establishment of Great Commission Ministries in India, trained aboriginals in basic trade skills, and he can always be found fixing something for someone.

David Pohlmann

David has worked variously as a music teacher, school chaplain and university academic. He currently heads up chaplaincy and youth degree studies at Christian Heritage College.

David and his wife Lisa and family moved up to the mountain in 2002 and have been part of Liberty for most of that time.

David has gifting and talent in many areas ranging across for his creative flair and thought provoking teaching. His experience in Church and Para-Church organizations provides him with a wealth of experience and broad perspective.

David has a sharp mind that brings variety and wisdom to leadership and his energy and passion will ensure Church life is fresh and vibrant.

Bernie Tane

Bernie is a chef by trade and the manager of three Baptist campsites here on Tamborine.

Bernie moved from New Zealand 8 years ago and has been a foundational member of the Liberty church. Bernie is a live servant. He loves people, loves to laugh and any time spent around Bernie is full of joy/.

Bernie leads up our prayer ministry and is active in worship and hospitality. Bernie is a man of great faith and generosity.
