MARK & CHERYL |
|
 |
(Senior Pastors)
|
| We renamed the church in 2005 to Liberty because it expressed our desire to see people free to use their God given gifts and the freedom for the Lord to touch and transform lives. |
Pastor Mark and Cheryl Wilson began their ministry at Tamborine in January 2004.
|
| They sensed the call of God to move from the Sunshine Coast and build on the platform laid by |
| |
Pastors Matt and Sue Hanlon, who pioneered the Mountain Community Church in 1998. |
| |
Mark and Cheryl say their goal is to reshape the boundaries of the local Church so that the focus of everything we aim to do is not restricted to a handful of paid or specialised leaders but to generate a variety of ministries which are spread across the giftedness of the whole congregation. |
| |
Mark and Cheryl entered full time ministry in 1996 and have ministered in two other churches where they served as Youth Pastors and church planters at Buderim. They have three fantastic children, Melanie 15, Sheridan 12 and Samuel 8. Prior to the call of god on their lives Mark and Cheryl owned and operated a maintenance business and signwriting company. Mark has qualifications in business management, purchasing and supply management and is currently completing a theological degree. Mark has been studying at QBCM (Malya) for two years before their first ministry call to the Goodlife Baptist Church on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. |
| |
Mark's passions are empowering and releasing people. He has a strong gift in Preaching God's word and exhortation; challenging people to be real and thrive in their intimacy with Jesus. |
| |
Mark's skills in vision and administration have developed a unique and different church structure and an exciting blueprint for the future. Although people need strong courageous leaders we are ever mindful that church is about everybody and we are called to serve, not to bathe in the spotlight. |
| |
He travels to Fiji on a regular basis to encourage and support many local churches and the Suva Prison ministry. Mark has led over 15 short term mission teams to Fiji since 1998. |
| |
Cheryl's passions are caring for and counseling people through trauma/crisis. She is currently completing a diploma in professional Outselling and hopes to establish a counseling service for the community. Cheryl has a burden for the nation of Indonesia and traveled there in 2005, not long after the Tsunami as part of an intercessory team. |
